C100 Legislative Report, 2023
After years of promoting the elimination of the corporate franchise tax, business advocates, including many in C100, were successful with Senate Bill (SB) 1 by Senator Allain which will phase out the tax over the next four years. This action will advance Louisiana from 39th to 37th in the Tax Foundation’s Business Climate Index, a measure of how well states structure their tax systems.
