William LaBar is a member of CGI, the world’s 5th largest independent IT and business process services company with over 70,000 members in 400 offices across 40 countries. He serves as the Vice President of CGI Federal’s Digital Service and Onshore Delivery Center programs within CGI’s Emerging Technologies Practice.
Will has worked in the Information Technology industry for 20 years, specializing in transforming government services by implementing digital and citizen centric services designed to reduce regulatory burden, enable secure data exchanges, and automate information sharing across stakeholder groups and increase citizen engagement. His work includes implementation of inter-agency and federal/state data exchanges that span e-Government, mobile, digital user experience, Intelligent Automation, geospatial solutions, advanced data monitoring, data analytics, Open Data and the Internet of Things.
Will also leads CGI Federal’s presence in its Onshore Delivery Program, launched in 2006, which now has 7 centers across the US and has created more than 1,600 jobs in partnership with local communities and universities. Will’s team also leads the US-wide STEM@CGI program, which is focused on introducing students in demographics that are underrepresented in STEM fields, including women, minorities and the economically disadvantaged to STEM related fields and concepts including software development and data science.
As a member of the Lafayette community, Will sits on the Executive Committee of One Acadiana, is the Vice-Chair of the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Commission and is an active member of the Industry Advisory Board at UL’s Center for Visual and Decision Informatics. Will is actively engaged in supporting Leadership Lafayette, Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Project Front Yard and Smart City projects across the community.
