B. Wayne Brown founded and served as President of Brown Builders, Inc. from 1971 to 2012 and currently serves as the Vice-President, and Chairman of the Board. Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from LSU and a Master of Science degree in Construction Management from Purdue University.
Mr. Brown is an active member of the local chapter of the Associated General Contractors of which he is a past President. Wayne also serves on the LSU Board of Supervisors. He is active in local politics, economic and civic organizations.
Wayne served as Vice President of the Bossier Chamber Board and on the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundation Board for over twenty years, including a term as Chairman. He is a member of both the Shreveport/Bossier Committee of 100 and the Louisiana Committee of 100. Wayne is also a member of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership serving on the Board of Directors.
Wayne is a registered Professional Engineer and is currently a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society and American Society of Civil Engineers. He has served on many community boards for non-profit organizations and churches. In 1996 Wayne was selected the Small Businessman of the Year by the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. He was also selected as a Top Ten Small Business by the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, and both he and Brown Builders were selected as finalist for the 1997 Louisiana Entrepreneur of the Year. He was named a 2014 Southern Gentleman for the Southern University of Shreveport Foundation.
