Tyron Picard is the founder and Principal of The Picard Group, LLC, a State and Federal Governmental Affairs and Business Consulting Group, with offices in Lafayette & Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Washington D.C. The Picard Group represents businesses, (including 10 Fortune 500 companies) associations and institutions primarily in the fields of health, energy, technology and construction.

Previously, Picard was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and a Board Member for The Acadian Companies, (an integrated health and security company) from 1998-2011. During Picard’s twelve year tenure as a member of the Acadian Executive Team, Acadian grew from 600 employees to over 3,000 employees, and from $70 million in sales to $350 million in sales.

A native of Maurice, Louisiana, Picard is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School, LSU (B.A. Political Science), and Tulane University School of Law (Cum Laude, 1990). Prior to joining Acadian in 1998, Picard was a partner in the Lafayette business law firm of Picard & Stipe, L.L.P.

Picard has developed a proven record of bipartisan legislative accomplishments on both the State and Federal level. He was awarded the 2008 American Ambulance Association’s President’s Award for his efforts leading the Industry’s National Political Action Committee, and for his role in assisting with passage of Federal Medicare Ambulance Payment Reform in 2008. In 2003, Picard served as Deputy Chair of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco’s Transition Team and in 2007 served as a member of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s Department of Environmental Quality Transition Team.

Picard is very involved in civic and community programs. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Council for A Better Louisiana (CABL) and the Gulf of Mexico Foundation. He was selected to join the Louisiana Committee of 100 for Economic Development which is comprised of 100 Louisiana CEOs. He is Past Chair of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce (2005) and a former Board Member of the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry, and the Tiger Athletic Foundation. Tyron previously served as Chair of the Opus Christi Magnum fundraiser benefitting the Lafayette Catholic Service Centers.

Picard has been recognized for his civic and business efforts. He was named by The Times of Acadiana newspaper as one of its “Faces to Watch” 1995 edition, selected for the Lafayette Independent newspaper’s 2005 “Top 20 Under 40” edition, and was selected as the Lafayette Daily Advertiser’s 2004 “Rising Young Business Leader of the Year”. Picard also received the Catholic Bishop’s Medal of Honor in 2010, for his work on behalf of the indigent & homeless in his community.

Residing in Lafayette, Picard and his wife, the former Elizabeth Guglielmo, have two sons, Drew and John Wright, whom he enjoys spending his time with snow skiing, hunting, fishing and racing thoroughbred horses.
