Tina S. Holland, PhD is President of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, formerly Our Lady of the Lake College. Before coming to Baton Rouge, Dr. Holland served for more than 22 years at Holy Cross College at Notre Dame, Indiana in a number of roles including mathematics professor, at-risk student program director, vice president for student affairs, executive vice president and provost. Prior to her career in higher education, Dr. Holland served as an intelligence officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Dr. Holland earned a PhD in Higher Education Administration and Leadership at Indiana State University, a Master of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. She also majored in Political Science with a focus on Latin American Security Affairs.
Dr. Holland serves on the boards of several education and service organizations, including the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, City Year of Baton Rouge, the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge, Saint Joseph Seminary College and Cristo Rey Franciscan High School. Holland was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Board of the Louisiana Educational Television Agency, and by the President to serve on the White House Commission for Presidential Scholars.
Dr. Holland is an avid follower of professional baseball and belongs to the Society of American Baseball Research. She and her husband, Peter Holland, have been married for 34 years, and they are blessed with four grown children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in–law and two beautiful grandsons.
