Peggy Scott is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer/CFO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, where she also served as Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to Blue Cross, Ms. Scott had a distinguished earlier career in public accounting where she quickly became Deloitte’s first female office Managing Partner in their 100-year history.
Ms. Scott also draws on unique experience in both insurers and fully integrated healthcare organizations spanning hospitals to hospice. Skilled in reinventing large complex U.S./International companies in dramatically changing environments, she served in Senior Executive roles at NovantHealth, Pan-American Life and General Health System. There she led transformations, grew companies organically and with M&A, and led operations and finance in eight countries.
Ms. Scott is an advisor to healthcare, technology and private equity. She is a consultant/advisor for Francisco Partners and serves on Health Catalyst Capital and the Blue Cross Foundation boards. She is on the LSU College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, having served as President.
Prior board service included International Plan Solutions, LLC, Partners National Health Plans, LA Superdome, and corporations in Latin America. She was an Adjunct Professor at Tulane’s Medical School.
Ms. Scott was featured in the Wall Street Journal as National Financial Executive of the Year, inducted into the American Institute of CPAs Hall of Fame, and named Parker Pen USA LTD’s Woman of Achievement. She is in the LSU Alumni Hall of Distinction, LSU’s highest honor, named a Tulane Outstanding Alumnus, and holds a Ronald Reagan presidential citation. Business Insurance selected her as one of the nation’s Women to Watch.
She is a CPA and certified in Valuations and Forensics. She holds an MBA from Tulane and a B.S. in accounting from LSU.
