Justin R. Ehrenwerth is a nationally recognized expert in coastal policy and applied science in the Gulf and across the country. Along with his years with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and White House Counsel’s Office, Ehrenwerth most recently served as the inaugural executive director of the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council created in the aftermath of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill to restore the ecosystem and revitalize the Gulf Coast economy.
Today, Justin serves as President & CEO of the Water Institute of the Gulf. Through an integrated and inter-disciplinary approach, The Water Institute of the Gulf helps to create more resilient communities, thriving economies, and a healthy environment. The Water Institute of the Gulf is dedicated to advancing the understanding of coastal, deltaic, river and water resource systems, both within the Gulf Coast and around the world. This mission supports the practical application of innovative science and engineering, providing solutions that benefit society.
