As CEO of REV Broadband, the parent company of RTC, EATEL, Vision Communications and VENYU, Josh Descant is responsible for aligning the mission, values and strategic goals for the state’s largest locally-owned telecommunications provider.

With both an industry and entrepreneurial background, Descant brings a unique perspective to guiding the leadership team responsible for daily service to more than 60,000 residential and business customers across the state of Louisiana.

In a time where remote work, distance learning and healthcare are powered by the internet and cloud computing, Descant recognizes the deep purpose and significance of his role to help guide REV Broadband to serve the needs of the community. He greatly values his team and understands it is essential that everyone find meaning and purpose in their work and balance in their personal lives.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Descant served as President of EATEL, and the previous position of Executive Vice President of Product Development and Marketing. Before joining EATEL, Descant was President of Sunshine Media, Upperline Media and ypOne publishing where he learned the importance of agility and adaptability through rapid growth and subsequent industry disruption.

Currently, Descant serves on USTelecom’s leadership committee – a dedicated alliance of connectivity executives representing local and regional broadband innovators – and is a member of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors and finance committee.

Descant was born and raised in New Orleans and has served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he learned the importance of discipline, teamwork and diversity. On the other side of the fun spectrum, he participated in the Walt Disney World college internship program, where he learned about the art of making customers happy and having fun at work. He also enjoys his wonderful home life with his wife and two daughters in Covington, Louisiana.
