Jeffery (Jeff) J. Arnold is Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Louisiana Electric Cooperatives (ALEC). ALEC is made up of eight electrical cooperatives in Louisiana serving over 1 million citizens in the state. Jeff is responsible for all association-related responsibilities including safety training, member services, communications, official publication, ALEC Federal Credit Union as well as corporate and governmental affairs.
From 2002-2016, Arnold served three consecutive terms in the Louisiana Legislature representing House District 102, which encompasses the Algiers neighborhood in the Greater New Orleans area. During his 14-year tenure in the state House, Arnold served as chairman of the Commerce and the Judiciary committees. In addition, Arnold served on the Louisiana State Bond Commission and Louisiana Utility Restoration Corporation.
Before joining ALEC, Arnold also served as senior vice president at First NBC Bank in New Orleans and worked for the City of New Orleans in both Economic Development and
Governmental Affairs. Arnold obtained a bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing/Finance at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
In addition, Arnold serves as a Board member of the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (NRECA), is a member of the Rural Electric State Managers Association (RESMA)
and serves on the Ochsner Baptist Hospital Board of Governors. Arnold was chairman of the Algiers Development District in New Orleans from 2008 to 2016.
