Mr. Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens National Bancshares of Bossier City, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Citizens National Bank, N.A. He also serves both Companies as a member of their Boards of Directors. Jason’s banking career began in 1990 at the former Red River Valley Bank in Bossier City (currently a part of the JP Morgan Chase franchise). Smith joined Citizens National Bank in 1994 as Assistant Vice President and has served in various areas of increasing responsibility until being named President and CEO in April of 2016. In addition to his role with Citizens, Smith has served the Banking Industry through various opportunities with the Louisiana Bankers Association; including President of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council and a as member of the LBA Government Relations Committee. Additionally, he has authored work in the American Bankers Association Journal and taught a multitude of financial literacy classes to students of all ages.
A graduate of Airline High School in Bossier City, Smith is the founding President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Airline Alumni and Friends Foundation, Inc. Smith received his Bachelors of Science in Finance (1990) and his Masters of Business Administration (1995) from Louisiana Tech University. He is also a graduate of the ABA School of Commercial Lending at the University of Oklahoma and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Smith has served his community in a number of ways during the past several years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce from 2006 to 2015 and served as Chairman of the Board in 2013. He also served on the founding Board of Directors of the Shreveport Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education. He currently serves as a trustee of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.
Jason is married to the former Kimmie Farrar who is the Assistant Principal at Legacy Elementary in Bossier Parish and they have three children Audrey (14), Addyson (11) and Austin (9).
