Early Ed Week-Louisiana

Early Ed Week-Louisiana

Louisiana’s first-ever Early Ed Week was a great success, with over sixty people attending across the state!

Early Ed Week is a focused campaign for business leaders and legislators to highlight the need to increase access to high quality early care and education for Louisiana's children and families. This year it was held between January 29 and February 2, and it included tours of three early learning centers: one in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Metairie.
In each parish, participants learned about the importance of early care and education not only for creating a skilled workforce for tomorrow, but also for the productivity and participation of their workforce today.

The events were hosted by the Louisiana Early Childhood Business Roundtable, Jefferson Business Council, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, Baton Rouge Area Chamber and Pres Kabacoff, and were sponsored by Entergy. Many thanks to Roundtable members Tony Ligi, Mike Olivier, and Pres Kabacoff for their assistance in organizing the week, and to the Roundtable members from Entergy who sponsored it, and to all the new members who attended the events and joined!

Media attention around the week was extensive:

Congratulations to everyone involved on the success of the inaugural Early Ed Week! Planners are looking forward to expanding it in future years to other parishes and sites.
