BioRoss Barrett is General Partner of SeVen Holdings. Seven Holdings, LLC is a Southeast-based venture capital firm that invests opportunistically. They provide equity capital to early and expansion stage companies with proprietary technology platforms or unique products addressing large markets. Not only do they manage venture capital funds, they have also launched the fund with $13 million in committed capital and a target of $50 to 70 Million. That fund is focused on Health and life Science opportunities across Florida and the Southeast.
Mr. Barrett is the managing General Partner of BVM Capital, which is the management company for venture funds: Louisiana Ventures, LP and Themelios Ventures, LP. He is a Co-founder of VC Experts, Inc. and is active in the strategic direction of the company.
Previously, he worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide to senior U.S. Senator, J. Bennett Johnston, where he specialized in risk assessment and regulatory reform. He has been an adviser to or investor in over twenty early-stage privately held companies.
He served as an appointed Commissioner of the statewide Louisiana Airport Authority from 2005-2008. In 2007, he was named to Governor Jindal's Small Business and Entrepreneurship transition team. Mr. Barrett currently is a member of state Committee of 100.
Mr. Barrett sits on the Advisory Board of Hope for New York, an umbrella organization of thirty Christian charities associated with Redeemer Presbyterian Church that promotes volunteerism in New York. He is head of its due diligence committee
Mr. Barrett received a masters degree in taxation from New York University School of Law.
Prior to NYU Law, he earned a J.D. from Louisiana State University School of Law. In law school, he was selected to participate in the National Tugel Moot Court Competition. Prior to that, he earned a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University, graduating with honors.
