BioRob M. Stuart, Jr.
Head of Middle Market Banking
Rob Stuart is Capital One Bank’s Head of Middle Market Banking. Middle Market Banking is focused on providing full service banking for in-footprint Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clients. Mr. Stuart represents the company at the local, community, state and national level and partners with leadership and across lines-of-business to advise on sales, marketing and other strategic decisions.
Before Capital One’s acquisition of Hibernia Corporation in November 2005, Mr. Stuart served as Hibernia’s Chief Credit Officer. He joined Hibernia in 1986 when Fidelity National Bank, for which he served as a Commercial Lending department manager, merged with Hibernia.
Mr. Stuart has more than 35 years of banking experience and has served in several management positions with Hibernia, including Baton Rouge City President and Head of Middle Market corporate banking efforts in South Central and Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas, as well as Commercial Dealer Services, Consumer Finance Company Banking and Public Finance.
A native of Baton Rouge, Mr. Stuart received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, both in finance, from Louisiana State University. He also completed the General Manager Program at Harvard Business School.
Mr. Stuart serves as Chairperson-Elect of the board and Director of the LSU Foundation. He is on the executive committee and board of the Louisiana Flagship Coalition. In addition, he serves on the boards of Blueprint Louisiana, Council for a Better Louisiana and the Shaw Center for the Arts, and he is a member of the E.J. Ourso College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. Mr. Stuart is past chair of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Woman’s Hospital and Southeast Louisiana Super Regional Committee.
