Dr. Phillip Rozeman

Phillip A. Rozeman, MD, FACC is a founding physician of Willis-Knighton Cardiology and brings more than four decades of clinical experience to the management of his patients. He is an interventional cardiologist and also practices non-invasive cardiology. He has many firsts including the first Willis-Knighton physician to place a coronary stent and the first to do a dual-chamber pacemaker.


Dr. Rozeman has taken leadership roles in healthcare, education, and business in the community as well as the state of Louisiana. He has been honored as the second recipient of the John Miciotto Lifetime Healthcare Achievement Award of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and has been honored with the Lifetime Distinguished Service Awards of the Northwest Louisiana Medical Society and the Council of a Better Louisiana.


He has served as Chief of Staff, Chief of Medicine, and a member of the Board of Trustees at Willis-Knighton Health System and is past Chairman of the Shreveport Medical Society (now Northwest Louisiana Medical Society).


For his service in healthcare and education, he has received annual community service awards from the Louisiana Department of Education, Louisiana Association of Educators, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Northwest Louisiana and Acadiana United Way, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, and LSU Shreveport.


Dr. Rozeman is the only physician elected Chairman of the Board for the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce in its 100 year history. He has been named Business Leader of the Year by both the Greater Shreveport and Minden Chambers of Commerce and has been inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame.


Dr. Rozeman is co-founder of the Alliance for Education, Magnolia School of Excellence, and Blueprint Louisiana. For his contributions to the community, he was honored by the city of Shreveport with the Spirit of Martin Luther King Award. He has been the graduation speaker at Louisiana Tech, LSU-S in Shreveport and Bossier Parish Community College commencements.


He is current Vice Chairman of the statewide Committee of 100 and a board member of the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children, PAR, and LABI. He currently leads a community effort to start the Louisiana Key Academy Charter School for dyslexic children in Shreveport.


Dr. Rozeman is happily married to Alma Pineda Rozeman for more than 40 years. They have three children, Laura, Sarah, and Mark; and four grandchildren, Sadie, Brooks, Luke, and Collin.
